What is <cite> Tag in HTML?

The HTML <cite> element is used when we want to cite a creative work in HTML. For example, you have a famous picture and you want to mention the name of the picture in an article; this is where you can use the <cite> element.

Note: the name of a famous person is not considered as a value of this element!

Also, browsers usually render the value within <cite> element in italic.
